If you are interested in reading more about J. K. rowling, her books and some of the background for the books, I recommend this little booklet, which is a treasure trove of information. It contains biographical material, discusses all the four first novels and lists pages of further reading material, all in just 96 pages.

A true must for any fan or pupil/student with a writing assignment.

Joanne Kathleen Rowling - Harry Potter

J. K. Rowling is the author of one of the greatest successes in children's books in the last decades - the stories of Harry Potter and his friends at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

As a recently divorced single mother she turned to writing. At first, publishers turned her down, but at last one saw the potential and accepted her manuscript for the first Harry Potter novel. And the rest is history...

I started out reading the first book to see if this was something for my daughter, but soon ordered the complete set for my own reading. We're into the fourth novel now, and she is waiting for more novels to come.

According to interviews, there will be seven Harry Potter novels, one for each year at Hogwart. Rowling also has written two small books, about Quidditch and Fantastic Beasts, which are supplementary to the Harry Potter novels - these are textbooks used at Hogwarts. The proceeds from these two books goes to Comic Relief, a charity.
